Tiles are the obvious first selection and they come in many sizes, shapes and colours, whether your style is sleek and modern, traditional and classic and everything in between there is something to suit.
In most cases it is best to limit the number of tiles selected to three. For a sleek sophisticated and minimalist feel you would could use the same tile on the floors and walls or for a more traditional space you could use a contrasting tiles on the floors and walls and an accent tile, such as a mosaic, patterned or 3 dimensional tile, for some visual interest. To create a spacious feel in a bathroom you could consider using a light tile on the walls and a large mirror behind the vanity or if you prefer dark and moody, select a dark tile for the majority of the space and compliment with a lighter tile on the floor.
